MASIMUM stands for MANET Simulation and Implementation at the University of Murcia. This
site is intended to provide software and documentation related to the
deployment and simulation of ad hoc and sensor networks.
Mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) consist of a group of nodes, usually
equipped with wireless interfaces, which are free to move and able to
communicate one with each other among multihop paths when a direct link
is not available.
Sensor networks are also ad hoc networks, but here the key
challenges come from the restricted capabilities associated to small
sensors (i.e., low battery charge, low computational power, etc).
The challenges offered by these networks have attracted the
attention of the research community during the last years. Thus, with this website we want to create a common place
where MANET-related work can be hosted on. Here you will find software
and documentation mainly developed by members of the ANTS working group of the Department of Information and Communications Engineering of the University of Murcia (Spain).
